What is Reiki Therapy?

Reiki is a system of natural healing techniques administered by laying of hands and transferring energy from the Reiki practitioner to the recipient. Reiki is a holistic energy treatment that originated in Japan. The practitioner administers natural healing vibrations through her hands to the animal either directly on the body or from a distance. Both treatments are equally effective. Reiki can be used to help: a) With Your Pet’s behavioral issues by promoting relaxation and stress reduction; b) accelerate healing following surgery or illness; c) provide comfort and relieve pain, anxiety and fear for terminally ill animals; d) enhance Your Pet’s quality of life; e) strengthen the human-animal bond.

Based on the American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Care, reiki sessions were “helpful in improving well-being, relaxation, pain relief, sleep quality and reducing anxiety”. All living beings have life energy flowing through them. When life energy is high, your pets are healthy and balanced, more relaxed and less likely to get sick. When it is low, they’ll often be more easily affected by stress and less resistant to illness. Reiki is a safe healing modality used to complement conventional Western medicine, Chinese medicine and homeopathy. Pet Reiki sessions last between15-30 minutes. The frequency of sessions will be tailored to Your Pet’s individual needs.
